WHERE ARE YOU FROM? WHAT SCHOOL DID YOU ATTEND? I was born and raised in Abilene, and after graduating from Wylie High School I went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University. After graduation, I worked in Belton ISD teaching math and science for several years. In 2014, I received the opportunity to move back to Abilene to become a 5th grade teacher at Reagan Elementary. Currently, I am earning a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas in Arlington.
TELLS US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY My husband and I met while attending Texas A&M. He currently works as a detective with the Abilene Police Department, and this summer we will be celebrating four years of marriage. My parents have been in Abilene for a little over 35 years. I have two younger siblings. My sister lives and works in Dallas with her husband and my brother is finishing his mechanical engineering degree at West Texas A&M in Canyon.
TELL US SOMETHING INTERESTING ABOUT YOURSELF My husband and I love to travel. I really enjoy experiencing new and different cultures and appreciating the world around me. We are always planning our next trip and adventure!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB? I love designing experiences that interest and motivate my students. I really enjoy working with students that come from challenging situations and working to help them be successful.
